Nine Racing Dominates During "Midget Maynia Tour"

Darland Wins At LaCrosse

Laguna Beach, California--Dave Darland continued his winning ways after claiming victory at Kokomo Speedway, by dominating the USAC National Midget Series event at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway, in West Salem, Wisconsin, on Friday, May 16. Dave started the race in the #9 Team ASE/Oakley/Ed Pink Toyota midget on the outside of the front row, and immediately charged to the front of the pack. He led all 30 laps of the feature event.

Teammate Kody Swanson, driver of the #19 Team ASE/Oakley/Ed Pink Toyota midget, who set fast time during qualifying, worked his way from his starting spot of sixth, but couldn't pass Dave, and ended up giving the Nine Racing team a fantastic one-two finish in the event.

The Nine Racing team had a very busy weekend, as the team also visited Slinger Super Speedway, in Slinger, Wisconsin, on Saturday, May 17, and Rockford Speedway, in Rockford, Illinois, on Sunday, May 18. Nine Racing claimed two top-nine finishes at Slinger Super Speedway as Kody finished the main event in fifth and Dave claimed ninth. Kody set fast time at the next event at Rockford Speedway, and came home in fourth, while Dave finished in 14th place.

Kody now stands in third place in the USAC National Midget Series points race, only eight points out of second, and Dave moved up to seventh position, and is within striking distance of fourth. The Nine Racing team will next take their Team ASE/Oakley/Ed Pink Toyota midgets to O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis for the 63rd Toyota Challenge Night Before the 500, on Saturday, May 24th.
